Lead@State

Leadership isn’t a title, it’s a practice.
Lead@State equips student organization leaders with the skills, awareness, and confidence to lead change at MSU and beyond.
Set up as a great opportunity for current and emerging leaders, Lead@State is a semester-long leadership series for student organization leaders at MSU. It focuses on communication, conflict, inclusion, service, and leadership transitions. If you want practical skills and support as a leader, this is a great opportunity.
Throughout the spring semester, participants will engage in interactive workshops focused on:
- Conflict & Communication
- Service & Civic Engagement
- Differences & Inclusion
- Transition & Legacy
The series emphasizes that leadership is not a title, but a developmental process. Through case studies, discussion, reflection, and practical tools, students will strengthen their ability to:
- Lead with integrity and confidence
- Collaborate across differences
- Manage conflict productively
- Engage communities responsibly
- Build sustainable, inclusive organizations
Workshops take place January through April and are designed to fit alongside academic and organizational commitments. Participants who complete the series will receive recognition for their leadership development and walk away with skills they can immediately apply within their organizations and beyond MSU.
If you are currently in a leadership role—or plan to step into one—we encourage you to apply.
