ALL DAY - "FILL THE BUS" - Virtual - Spartan Students! The MSU Center for Community Engaged Learning and MSU Alumni invites you to participate in our 15th Annual “Fill the Bus” event. We strive to give local students and families an equal start to the new school year! When a student walks into the classroom with the basic supplies they need, they can focus on what really matters - learning! Students you can donate New school supplies (ex. pack of Crayons, Pack of #2 Pencils, Pack of Markers, Notebooks, and or Folders) at the Center for Community Engaged Learning located in the Student Services Building, Suite 101. You can also make a monetary donation online through our CrowdPower fundraising page. 7 AM - 3 PM (EDT) NSO IN-PERSON PROGRAMMING Breslin Center - Official programming will occur throughout the day and includes mealtimes, breaks, transition periods, and other Fall Welcome and NSO program elements. Continue reviewing the schedule below for more Fall Welcome and NSO program details (i.e. a DEI presentation and a MSU Community Resource Panel). ALL NEW STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO PARTICIPATE in these program elements and will be engaged in programming during this entire timeframe.

  • 10 - 10:30 AM (EDT) NSO IN-PERSON PROGRAMMING ~ DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION@MSU - Breslin Center - Engage with Dr. Jabbar Bennet and the Institutional Diversity and Inclusion (IDI) team to learn more about the Universities’ commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and to help new students develop a sense of belonging as part of the diverse campus community at MSU. ALL NEW STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND this NSO program experience.

  • 10:30 - 11:30 AM (EDT) NSO IN-PERSON PROGRAMMING ~ MSU COMMUNITY RESOURCE PANEL - Breslin Center - Connect with the MSU Public Safety and the University Health & Wellbeing departments through an interactive MSU Community Resource panel. During this panel, new students will learn more about how these two departments work together to support student success and wellness at MSU. ALL NEW STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND this NSO program experience.

11 AM - 2 PM (EDT) CAREER SERVICES NETWORK DROP-IN DAY- Student Services Building, First Floor (across from Broad Art Museum) 556 E. Circle Dr. - Join us at the Career Services office in the Student Services Building during Fall Welcome to meet our team and explore our new Career Closet! Career advisors will be available with resources to help you find campus employment, navigate Handshake (MSU'scareer management system), create or polish your resume, and prepare for upcoming career fairs. Looking for a job? Residential and Hospitality Services will be conducting on-site interviews for a variety of positions.

12 PM (EDT) VIRTUAL “SPARTAN LUCK OF THE DRAW” - Student Life Facebook Live - At the top of every hour, students can watch the “Spartan Luck of the Draw” via the MSU Student Life Facebook Live page to win a Spartan prize from the prize spinning wheel. 12 - 2 PM (EDT) ACADEMIC SCHOLARS PROGRAM (ASP) CONVOCATION AND COOKOUTAlumni ChapelASP welcomes its newest members with a special event at the Alumni Chapel. New Academic Scholars will get to meet each other and hear from upper-level Academic Scholars and the dean of the Honors College. All Academic Scholars beginning in Fall 2023 are REQUIRED to attend. We can’t wait to see you soon!

2 PM (EDT) DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY WELCOME TENT - Outside in front of the Wharton Center - Psychology freshman can stop by to say hello and meet the Psychology Advising Team. Come and ask your questions, learn about our fall programs, get a printed copy of your degree handbook, join our social media, and win some Psychology Swag on your way to the College of Social Science Colloquium. The tent will be set up outside the front of the Wharton Center. Look for the green tent and balloons!

3 – 6 PM (EDT) COLLOQUIA WITH YOUR COLLEGE - LOCATION VARIES - As a new student you are REQUIRED to participate in this event. “Colloquia with Your College” locations are listed on the Fall Welcome website at fallwelcome.msu.edu and your individualized information is also available on your Individual Personalized Fall Welcome Schedule. During this event new Spartans will meet their college Dean, Faculty, Academic Advisers, upper-class students and other new students in their college. This session is an essential way for you to learn about what it takes to be successful at Michigan State University.

8 PM – 12 AM (EDT) "SPARTAN ENGAGE U" EVENING ACTIVITIES - Engagement evening activities that are coordinated between the Office of Spartan Experiences and Residence Education and Housing Services (REHS) as an extension of community building activities.

  • 8 - 9 PM (EDT) SPARTY SMART TRIVIA - Virtual via Zoom - Spartans will have the opportunity to win prizes during each round. We will host three rounds including a social media lightning round. Check the Fall Welcome website for more information at fallwelcome.msu.edu. Hosted by Office of Spartan Experiences.

  • 8 - 10 PM (EDT) SPARTAN NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM- Eli and Edythe Broad Museum - Join the MSU Eli and Edythe Broad Museum staff for an amazing interactive event featuring programming and an opportunity to view the museum collections. Hosted by MSU Eli and Edythe Broad Museum.
  • 8 - 10 PM (EDT) PLANETARIUM “STARTACULAR SHOW” - EVENT CANCELLED - Abrams Planetarium - Join the Abrams Planetarium staff for an interactive “Sky Over MSU” experience. Event will explore the constellations, planets and other observable phenomena that can be seen in the skies over MSU. Please RSVP for the event using the following link: tiny.cc/AbramsFW22.
  • 9 PM - 12 AM (EDT) SPARTANS ON ICE - Munn Ice Arena - Come break the ice and meet new Spartans as you join us for ice skating at Munn Ice Arena. Ice skates and Ice skating lessons will be provided.
  • 8 PM – 12 AM (EDT) "SPARTAN NATION LATE NIGHT" @MSU LIBRARY – MSU Library - Join us for a fun and engaging Spartan experience featuring an opportunity to engage in a variety of Spartan experiences including Spartan Trivia, and Spartan E-Sports games and much more! Don't miss the opportunity to learn more about the MSU Library and connect with other Spartans. Event collaboratively hosted by the Office of Spartan Experiences and the MSU Library! 
  • 10 PM – 12 AM (EDT) SPARTY STATUE PHOTO PARTY AND DANCE EVENT- Join us for a
    fun and engaging experience featuring an opportunity to take pictures at the Sparty statue, learn and participate in line dancing at IM Circle, and enjoy refreshments while supplies last. Don’t miss this fun fill opportunity to connect with other Spartans. Hosted by the Office of Spartan Experiences and other Community University Partners.
